Changes

They did an ultrasound of Maggie's abdomen because it is pretty large. They were hoping to find accessible pockets of fluid. Then they would put a catheter into her and drain it out. However, the fluid seems to be located in places that are too dangerous to access, or it is being held within her bowels and tissue. So, there is no way to drain her fluids in that manner. Oh well.

They are testing her for H1N1, which is a little odd. She's been here 10 days, after all. But nothing else is growing, so they are giving it a shot.

They have initiated steroid treatment this afternoon, as well. Hopefully that will improve her lung inflammation and functioning as soon as tomorrow. Along with it comes some significant risks. We pray that it helps (a lot) and doesn't hurt (at all).

Maggie is still on her back, is on and off the paralytic, and is trying to hang in as long as possible before we put her back on her stomach. There's only so much time that she can rely on her belly as safe and helpful. She needs to be able to survive on her back as well.

Praying that the steroids will be the key to Maggie's recovery...with NO negative effects. I admire how strong you are. Although we have never met, I check this blog often throughout the day praying for Maggie and you all.

Praying for no scary effects from the steroids, for a diagnosis that can lead to healing, for fluid to leave her, for andy and whitney to have sleep tonight and for tomorrow to come with a turn the corner day! Come on Maggie!!!

Still praying, specifically that the steroids would only be good and that everything that the Dr's and nurses are doing would work in Maggie's favor.
In your corner and praying!

Maggie has already shown the world that she is a fighter.I pray that her body takes hold of those steroids and they and her determined spirit get to work on all that is bad and stay away from any harmful effects. I pray that the fluids just dissappear. I pray she quickly recover from this and all her cancer as well. Like Sarah I pray that mom and dad fall into a deep sleep for the whole night and wake up refreshed and ready for the next day . I pray to my God who is capable of all this and more.I pray he understands when we all say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.It is time to get on with the buisness of Healing. Please Lord Please..
